With so many
different families living on our base, we have approximately 80
children currently within the community including many orphans
(who are very much a part of our family) and high school-going
children from the outside who attend and board at
Blue Mountain
College. As a people, we have been very blessed to
experience healthy and wholesome children at Alon, very much in
accordance with God’s promise to us that He would bless the womb
and protect the unborn child on our land. We have set up a
children’s home for the care of orphans sent to us by the
Department of Social Welfare. While we will never turn away any
orphan, our focus is to care for children who have genuinely
lost both parents and have no immediate family willing to take
care of them. Many orphans arrive as subjects of severe abuse
and neglect, but it is wonderful to see the growth and blessing
on each and every orphan as God has promised to give back what
the enemy has stolen from them. The addition of school-going
boarders has added a new dimension to at Alon and we are very
excited for God’s plan for the children at Blue Mountain
College.
