Outreaches

God has instructed us to always reach out to those around us. Jesus gave us the perfect example by always being prepared to allow people around Him to reach Him and even to touch Him. So, while the fact is that everyday should take on some measure of outreach (whether in the workplace or otherwise), specific outreaches are undertaken during the year. We do not have a formal outreach programme and may go on outreach once, twice or ten times a year, as we feel the Lord would lead us to do. We have been blessed with strong relationships which have been built up with many believers and churches in Southern Africa over the years and often go to visit with them. It has always been felt that in order to genuinely reach people we need to spend time living with them and so outreach times may last anything from 3 weeks to 6 weeks at a time. Outreach sizes may vary, but would often be 20 people or more and so we are grateful for a large, 25-seater bus which is a very handy mode of transport for outreach. Zimbabwe, Botswana, Mozambique, Malawi and Zambia are some of the countries in Southern Africa we often visit, but smaller groups have also been to Europe and the Middle East from time to time. Every person who has ever gone on outreach has always reported the blessing of giving out to those in need, thus fulfilling the scripture that ‘it is more blessed to give than to receive.’ (Acts 20:35)
