Testimony of André & Jeanette Botes

If you are willing and obedient you will eat the best in the land (Isaiah 1 v 19). The Lord had given us this verse out of the Bible, at the beginning of our journey in trusting Him for His best plan for our lives, and laying down our own plans and ideas. The Lord had prospered our lives in the spiritual and the physical. “Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness, and all these things will be added unto you”. (Mathew 6 v 33) An opportunity opened for me in town to go back into private practice. This was a big step of faith, since it meant big financial expenses and risks. Looking back over the past six years, God had provided for us in a mighty way, but we had to abide by His ways. Two years ago I had the opportunity to design, and be a part of the building of a new practice premises, at a different location. God had made me a part of a business complex with a lawyer and two chartered accountants, who have also made a decision to trust God for His best plan for their lives, who are also a part of the work. God had put us alongside one another, to help and support each other. Together we submit one unto another, and so God had established a business testimony in the marketplace. Today my work as a doctor has become much more fulfilling. My practice has become differentiated, providing specialised services that serve the community, and I can say a particular flavour of showing mercy to others in the way of health and healing, has developed. Financially I had to make my life accountable to my brothers in the Lord, and slowly started repaying my debts. The Bible says: “owe no man anything, but to love one another, for he who loves another has fulfilled the law”. (Romans 13 v 8) With all the old debts haven been paid off, I trust God that in the near future I will owe no man anything. Restoring the order of God, and the authority of God in the household. As we went forward in the adventure of trusting God in a real way, and following Him in a practical way, we started experiencing the Father heart of God more in a practical and living way. God is a father that loves unconditionally, but He is also a God of order and discipline. So many insecurities in children and adults develop as a result of a lack of this. I started experiencing the discipline of God, which was mostly not that pleasant at the time, but it brought me to a more secure place in Him. As priest of the household, I had to fulfil this role in my household, so that my children would be more secure, and to give them a good foundation in God. God has given us three children. A son named Daniel, aged 13, and two daughters, Jeannie and Megan, aged 11 and 6. Also my wife had to come under this in our household, in order for God’s blessing to come more upon us as a family, and the curses of the past to be broken. We have received much help, guidance and encouragement from the spiritual leadership that God had placed over us. They have lead by example in their own lives, and so provoked us to a jealousy to also have what they had. As we made a commitment to trust God and also submit and follow the leadership God had put over us, we felt God’s blessing on our lives. To Him be the glory!
