When we fled as
political refugees from Zimbabwe with our baby son we had hope of money,
jobs and a new life in South Africa. Despite leaving the troubles of
Zimbabwe behind us and going to church each Sunday we still felt that
there was something lacking in our lives. After 18 months in South Africa
we came to Alon farm. Here we felt an incredible peace that we had never
experienced before. As we stayed longer we started to see the bigger
picture of an extended family of believers living together in unity. This
is a diverse group of people, who all want to go on in the Lord. Initially
it was not easy for us but the Lord strengthened us and people encouraged
us. We were still very blinded by many traditional and cultural things,
but God was opening our eyes and setting us free. As our relationship with
God grew we started to grow in faith and vision for what He has for us and
for the community. We were married for five years by cultural tradition
only. In April 2007, by God’s grace, we were married in the name of Jesus
Christ. The wedding was a wonderful occasion and we were blessed beyond
our dreams. We continue to be excited for all that God has for us and our
family in the future. |
