My name is Peter and I
arrived at Alon farm in September 1999, fresh from a mental institution
and still very confused what it meant to be a believer in Jesus. I had a
hope that maybe God had a plan for me, but did not have any idea if or how
it would come about. I could see that people on the farm had a real love
for Jesus and I found community life very exciting and fulfilling. By His
grace, the Lord did a miracle of healing in my life and restored me
mentally and emotionally. I enjoy the practical work on the farm and all
the young people who share lives with each other. Single life was
good...until Myriam arrived from the USA. This is how the Lord brought us
together... My name is Myriam and I came to Alon in 2007 after living in
America for 9 years. I had been unsuccessfully looking for joy and peace
in all the wrong places and instead I became miserable and hopeless. My
sister, her husband and parents-in-law (all living at Alon) shared the
gospel with me in 2005 and even though I gave my life to Jesus then, I was
following the Lord half-heartedly. In 2007 I made the decision to leave
America and move to Alon....little did I know when I met Peter on the day
of my arrival that I would be happily married to him 8 months later. The
Lord has blessed us with a beautiful home close to many other young
married couples and are so blessed to have been saved from a life of
emptiness and confusion - we are excited for the Lord's best plan for us
in the future! |
